Binärpilot is a Norwegian experimental-electrosynth artist and his stuff is just funky as hell. It’s got great beats and fun melodies which varies throughout the songs and it’s highly usable for DJs as it’s very easy to mix in with music.

You know what else- you guys are pretty lucky because here is another artist who has put ALL of his tracks and REMIXES on the site available for free download.

“You can download all my songs for free. All I ask in return is that you share them with friends, send them to strangers, link this site, leave burned CDs at parties, or anything else that would help them get heard. Greedy industry is killing music with their popollution. Don’t let them. Download and dance like nobody is watching.”

His website basically promotes the downloading of his music- so go get in there cuz you have no excuse to not start enjoying his music right now!

.Khi is an Estonian musician whose music really is experimental and varied. There are some upbeat rave-y music as well as dnb music he has created using some fast or deep and heavy beats (1990 & Mozqtos). There are also others where it’s almost electro-ambient and it sounds like he really is not afraid to push the limits in being experimental.

How did you come up with the name?
The name was actually generated from Michael Knights anagram, Khi Milch.. but for me it was too long so, i shortened it, and i added a dot (.Khi)

Tell me a little about yourself?
I am probably the cutest boy in the world and my name is Hugo and i am from Tallinn ;> I am nineteen. I have a cat!
I call her a little princess: ))

What did you do before starting the musicalities?
I have been doing music since i was 13.. or something like that. At the beginning i was in a punk band – drummer, we even won the shittest band award. : )) Before 13, i cant remember what did

How did you start out/ was it hard?
I got my influence by Aphex Twin, i saw the ‘Come to daddy’ video and i was like “aaah wtf, so disgustiing, i liiike!” And after that i got the track ‘Killahman Machine – Amen’ and i went AMOK! I was 14 at that time.. and then i produced my first track. But you see, my music is very different from normal dancing music, so you can say it is hard to push your music out in 5 years. After i played at Plektrum Festival on the same stage with Vector Lovers, it was a somekind of a jump for me. As people have said, my music has no visible borders and it is very cool to see people dancing on your music.

Any big plans for the near future?
Well for me the biggest is that, i am doing my first live outside of Estonia @ Club Puschkin at Dresden, Germany. I am really looking forward to it.. anybody should come!
There is like Granufunk with juno6, Anaxy, aries fiktion and Sonic Depth Trap and many more.. (ticket is only 4€!)After that we will see what will happen..

What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
Alavi – Smells like ReRox (i think it is the best smells like teen spirit remixes, others are full of shiet)

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
My laptop.

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
Nope, but that would be kinky if i would have.

Does being in a band help in picking up girls/boys?
Luckily i am alone..

Has anything crazy or embarrassing ever happened during a live gig?
Well, like i mentioned before, i am probably the cutest guy in the world, so the first live when i had – i was so shy that i hid myself under the table.. haha

There are links to listen to his music as well as check out his upcoming events- he’s excited about his girst gig out of Estonia!

Crystal Castles

February 18, 2008

This Canadian duo is one of my personal favourite music makers because of their many remixes. Crystal Castles is made up of Ethan Kath – who plays many different instruments – and Alice Glass – who is the vocalist – and they create experimental electronic sounds.

Their first song was recorded in 2005 accidentally by Alice Glass as she was test recording some vocals to be mixed with Ethan’s instrumental sounds. It was labelled “Alice Practice” and leaked into the public through myspace where record producers heard it. Since then they have been gaining many fans around the world and have toured around UK, US and Europe- still waiting till they announce a tour in Australia.

Their awesome remixes include:
(My favourite) Klaxons- Atlantis to Interzone
Sohodolls- Trash The Rental
GoodBooks- Leni
The Little Ones- Lovers Who Uncover
(Another Favourite) Uffie- Pop the Glock *called Make It Hott*
HEALTH- Crimewave
Comic Book Fever- Cry Babies
Liars- It Fit When I Was A Kid
The Whip- Divebomb

They are recording their first self titled full length album to be released in March 2008.

UPDATED: Such a shame about their apparent attitude *see link in comments*. Still love their remixes though!!
