Nokia 888

June 29, 2008

This prototype for the Nokia phone definitely got my attention. Trying to dig my phone out of my bag really does annoy me, especially as with most girls, the bag is huge!
The designers believe that “The perfect form does not exist. Form follows you”
So now this concept of the phone allows it to be flexible enough to be folded around your wrist or clipped onto your pocket.
For guys, you could use it as a money clip as you go out at night while the girls can slip this into their big wallets or little clutches.
Some of the technology that has been proposed for this phone has actually been used, so we’ll see how the course of this phone goes!

Jo Team

June 27, 2008

Now this provides all you vintage fanatics out there with some great news! As much as rummaging through vintage outlets and other stores for the cutest outfits can be fun, it also can be tedious and time-consuming finding something that can be worn around. Never fear!! Someone has done all the looking for you and stuck it up on Ebay- ready to buy!!!
The Jo Team has created a very successful little business here!

How did you come up with the name?
I really like the go! Team, and the nickname Jo Team just kinda stuck.

Who’s the brains behind the idea- tell me a little about yourself and what it is you do?
I’m 21, I hate outlet shopping and am totally addicted to eBay.

When and how did you start out?
Started over a year ago out of pure boredom and an oversized wardrobe. I took inspiration from my friend Holly and Mint Vintage in Adelaide and together we made vintage love and out popped baby Jo Team Vintage.

Was it hard to actually start?
Not at all. I was dire need of some entertainment and dollars.

What did you do before you began?
I was in my final year of Marketing at the Uni of Adelaide, and working weekends branding indie kids with stamps at the Rocket Bar. Starting Jo Team filled the gaps between 12 hours of uni and long lunches.

Any big plans in the near future?
I’ve just moved to Melbourne and looking for Vintage stores, fashion outlets and other press to team up with. I also need a new male model (my love left me for Sydney) so if you consider yourself a bit of a poser, you might just need to hit me up.

–Random questions–
What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
I am also a composer so I listen to stuff that inspires my work. This week it’s Portishead, Joy Division and Lou Reed.

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
A mug of peppermint tea and a Chocolate Wheaten.

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
It’s no secret. I have a rockin’ teddy called Dermot.

Have a look at the Ebay site and buy some of these clothes before someone else does- they would be one of a kind so if you love it, you should buy it!

Light Graffiti Video

June 25, 2008

This video is pretty much the most interesting thing i’ve seen in a while! Watch it!

What happens is the pen has a sensor which is connected to all the equipment in the van and the projector. The projector is sitting in the van and projects images onto the building!
It’s a pretty sweet idea they got there.

Curtis Vodka

June 20, 2008

You want some funky chilled out music to listen to? Have a listen to Curtis Vodka- the DJ/Producer. He creates a lot of laid back 80’s grooving music which is great to listen to anytime.

How did you come up with the name?
I was sick of the other names I had and so I wanted a name that sounded more like an actual name rather then some weird obvious made up name. Curtis Vodka seemed to work out!

Tell me your A/S/L?
I will be 22 in a few weeks (JUNE 28TH)
I am a MALE
My location… I don’t really have one I guess? Though, I am an Alaskan citizen.

What did you do before the starting?
I use to produce rap beats under the name The Black Rolex.

How did you start out/ was it hard?
I made a horrible terrible remix and it blew up and I had my 15 minutes of fame.

Any big plans for the near future?
Releasing some music soon and I plan to move to L.A. at some point.

–Random questions–
What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
Quiet Village’s “Can’t Be Beat”

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
My Cellphone.

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
Noppppe.

Does being in a band help in picking up girls/boys?
Yes, A lot of them. So much that now I have a serious Girlfriend and so I’ve made sure the girl thing has stopped.

Has anything crazy or embarrassing ever happened during a live gig?
Yes. I was once playing in Denmark and I played nothing but Juke and the crowd boo’ed me off! It sucked and I felt like shit. But, oh well.

The second link is good for any DJ’s out there who likes to experiment with tracks- they’ve uploaded tracks onto that website only for a limited time so you can create some of your own groovy tunes!

.Khi

June 12, 2008

.Khi is an Estonian musician whose music really is experimental and varied. There are some upbeat rave-y music as well as dnb music he has created using some fast or deep and heavy beats (1990 & Mozqtos). There are also others where it’s almost electro-ambient and it sounds like he really is not afraid to push the limits in being experimental.

How did you come up with the name?
The name was actually generated from Michael Knights anagram, Khi Milch.. but for me it was too long so, i shortened it, and i added a dot (.Khi)

Tell me a little about yourself?
I am probably the cutest boy in the world and my name is Hugo and i am from Tallinn ;> I am nineteen. I have a cat!
I call her a little princess: ))

What did you do before starting the musicalities?
I have been doing music since i was 13.. or something like that. At the beginning i was in a punk band – drummer, we even won the shittest band award. : )) Before 13, i cant remember what did

How did you start out/ was it hard?
I got my influence by Aphex Twin, i saw the ‘Come to daddy’ video and i was like “aaah wtf, so disgustiing, i liiike!” And after that i got the track ‘Killahman Machine – Amen’ and i went AMOK! I was 14 at that time.. and then i produced my first track. But you see, my music is very different from normal dancing music, so you can say it is hard to push your music out in 5 years. After i played at Plektrum Festival on the same stage with Vector Lovers, it was a somekind of a jump for me. As people have said, my music has no visible borders and it is very cool to see people dancing on your music.

Any big plans for the near future?
Well for me the biggest is that, i am doing my first live outside of Estonia @ Club Puschkin at Dresden, Germany. I am really looking forward to it.. anybody should come!
There is like Granufunk with juno6, Anaxy, aries fiktion and Sonic Depth Trap and many more.. (ticket is only 4€!)After that we will see what will happen..

What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
Alavi – Smells like ReRox (i think it is the best smells like teen spirit remixes, others are full of shiet)

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
My laptop.

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
Nope, but that would be kinky if i would have.

Does being in a band help in picking up girls/boys?
Luckily i am alone..

Has anything crazy or embarrassing ever happened during a live gig?
Well, like i mentioned before, i am probably the cutest guy in the world, so the first live when i had – i was so shy that i hid myself under the table.. haha

There are links to listen to his music as well as check out his upcoming events- he’s excited about his girst gig out of Estonia!

Random Product of the Week!

June 10, 2008

Just adding a new little segment type thing to this blog called- RANDOM PRODUCT OF THE WEEK –
Yeah original I know. But here’s this week random bit.

It’s called the ‘Who Tall Are You Mirror’ and it is basically a mirror that has all the heights of celebrities. All you do is measure up against it and see if you happen to be taller than Seth Green- which as it turns out is not hard to be.

It is actually available to buy from England and they will post it over. If anyone is interested just let me know and I’ll link you guys up (unfortunately today my link thing is being slightly uncooperative).
