Jim Kirk – a.k.a JiKay – is an 18 year old musician from Nottinghamshire. While he does DJ occasionally and his music has an electronic vibe, his musical abilities extend to many different instruments and all styles of music.

His whole life he’s been involved with music:
What did you do before you started to make music?
I honestly can’t remember a time i’ve not made music! It’s literally been my life forever!

How did you start out/ was it hard?
It’s been quite a natural thing for me as my dad’s a musician and I grew up going to his gigs and playing with his music gear. Being a big geek basically πŸ™‚

The music that Jim makes is hard to describe because each song is so different- which is great! His collection of songs has a combination of incredible synths that send electricity down your spine plus deep and heavy beats – some bordering on drum n bass.

My personal favourite songs you should listen to is Loud Music and BIP. He also does remixes of songs, most recently one for Soulja Boy which is HOT- it’s all on his other myspace page JiKay remix. Keep checking his myspace for any new songs and updates:
Got lots of gigs coming up, wanna record some new stuff, possibly a tour at some point? Would be fun πŸ™‚

–Random Question Time–
What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
Goshhh what a hard question… Let’s think, recently Dan le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip have impressed me a lot. Amazing songs.

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
Haha ermmm, probably a computer. Geek innit πŸ™‚

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
Haha ermmm nahhh.

Does making music help in picking up girls?
Never enough groupies πŸ˜›
