We’ve Taped Over Your Cassettes

15 year old Andy and 17 year old Jack are best friends from the UK and as a music duo- We’ve Taped Over Your Cassettes- they’re fast become popular! Now normally I’d take bits and pieces from the interview and write up an article- but these two fun and friendly boys gave a great interview, so just keep reading!

How’d you come up with the name for your duo?
We came up with the name because we were in a band called ‘Cassettes’ , but then decided to break away from the other two. We had some gigs booked under the name Cassettes, so we just came up with the name. Maybe a little harsh to other band members (sorry boys) haha

Where are you guys from and how’d you decide to become a music duo?
We are from Nottingham in the UK. We decided to become a duo become Andy got a laptop, and we were just starting to get into more electronic music. We just decided it would be fun to do something different

What did you guys do before starting?
We were in our old band! We used to think we were new rave (bless us)

When did you start making sweet music?
It was probably about 5 months ago that I got my laptop, so i’d say 3 or 4 months ago? But we’ve only just recently took it serious, due to us playing with These new puritans! (one of our favourite bands)

Any big plans for the near future- EP’s?
We’ve been talking to a few small labels about releases, but with us being in the middle of our exams, We haven’t been able to really push for anything big yet. Maybe in the future? We are going to be a two compilations though. They will both be out this year!

–Random Questions–
What song have you been listening to most in the past few weeks?
It’s got to be Metronomy’s XFM session! They are one of our biggest influences! Can’t wait for their album!

What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
Most definitely my laptop! I should get out more!

Does making music help in picking up girls?
Everyone just loves our onstage choreography! haha! So i’d say yes!

After listening to their music on their myspace, it wasn’t hard me to start loving their clever use of different synths for melodies and easy dancing beats. So I suggest that you listen to ‘Ghost Train’ and ‘Bar Brawl’ and start loving them!
