The Rapture

The Rapture is another performance that I definately won’t miss at Good Vibes. Most people tend to describe their music in the rock/electronic acid house genre. But I just call it awesomecrazy music.

Their music has an alternative vibe which could be because of the combination of instruments and singing voice. Luke and Matt’s singing style has an awkward all over the place sound which makes it okay to dance to it just as awkward and all over the place (even people that are considered bad dancers look great dancing). Add that to the guitar riffs, amazing bass playing and a saxophone you’ve pretty much got easy listening music. Their music is not only great to dance to, it’s very laid back and makes people feel easy going and carefree.

The Rapture was formed back in 1998 but it was only in 2003 that they released their first album- Echoes. Then they began touring in 2004 as a supporting act and by late 2006 their second album was released- Pieces of the People We Love. They supported The Killers and Daft Punk after the release of their second album and their song “Echoes” was used in a scene from Superbad.

Can’t wait to dance to their music live! I’d suggest people listen to the song “Whoo! Alright, Yeah…Uh Huh” from their 2006 album because it’s real catchy and dance-able.
